Die-hard fans wait 11 hours to see Mickey Mouse anniversary attraction at Tokyo Disneyland

Image
This year was a big year for Mickey Mouse as he made his debut to the world on November 18, 1928. Fans all around the world went to the Disney Parks in hopes of talking a photo with him on his special day. While it should be no surprise that there are die heart fans of Disney in the world in Toyoko that fandom might be unmatched. While there is no official record of the official wait time to visit Mickey in his home at the park it is estimated that some fans waited over 11 hours to get a photo with the mouse. This seems extreme but for many of these fans, they are Instagram influencers or Disney inspired accounts and having these photos are important in maintaining their accounts for their fans and followers who follow their page. No reports of the wait time at the other parks but it would not be a surprise if the excitement seen here would be the same at the other parks in helping celebrate Mickey Mouses 90th birthday.

Why is the Taj Mahal crumbling?

Image
Indias most famous monument has been falling in disarray for some time now. Since the 1980's tourist and even tour guides have seen as the beautiful monument continues to get worst and worst as the cracks in the building show definite signs of wear and tear. Many have asked tour guilds the reason for the neglect and they have no answers. Another major problem that has arisen is the air pollution. The air quality is also affecting the building and adding to the disarray. The base of the building which has tunnels running underneath it is drying up and caused the baseboards to star to crack. The beams under the building need constant water to maintain them but the country itself is having water problem so supplying these beans with the water they need it not at the top proprietory of the country. The government has tried to step up and try to repair the building but many have asked and wonder why to keep up the maintenance. Many people and agency have tried over the years to

Monkey kills baby boy in India's Agra

Image
We are used to animal attacks in America with the occasional bear and coyote attacks in peoples homes. In India the city of Agra is having a huge problem with their money population. recently a 12 day old baby was ripped from his mothers arms while she was breast feeding and was killed. The money bite the baby and carried it to a near by rooftop where it was left as the monkey was fleeing from people chasing. The family who spoke to the reports are heartbroken over the loose and hope that a change with come of this. There has been an increase of these incidents happening and as of now there is now clear solution as to how the problem will resolve itself. The moneys are coming into the cities in search of food and are becoming aggressive as their natural habits are being taken over. Residents have said that the numbers keep on rising and that the monkeys are becoming more and more aggressive and now peoples lives are at stake. The local police are trying to track down the money who ki

North Korea: Sexual abuse of women 'common' - report

Image
Today in the world that we live in sexual abuse is a crime that is unacceptable. With the #METOO movement, more and more survivors have come forward to share their story. However, there are still women who can not come forward and share their stories. In North Korea, this is very much the case. Many women who have escaped from North Korea have told and reported cases of sexual abuse and rape from men of authority. Police officers, high ranking officials, and guards have all be among the accused. Women say that a man will pick them and they have no choice to consent. Someone women even say that this has become a normal everyday reality for women. With little sexual education awareness, this has become a big issue and Human Right agencies are taking notice and helping women come forward and share their stories. It is a system-wide problem that is still going on to this day without a clear end in sight. In addition to women experience this abuse while in jail they are subjected to force

Mickey Mouse Works His Magic in China

Image
Walt Disney had a dream and a drawing of a mouse. Little did he know that after his death and the huge success of his Disneyland Park that Disney parks would be opening up all around the world. The newest park to open up is in Shanghai China. This park is different from the other parks as it is the most modern of them all. As I was reading this article for this week I came across an idea that I had never really thought about before. Disney Parks are American as with the creator of them all was born and died in America. The spread of American ideals and morals are part of the parks and for us are just part of the charm. When you enter the parks you walk down Main Street and the shops and restaurants that are along this route all have an American feel and are often times themed from the early 1900's. But as you want down the main street in Shanghai instead of it being Main Street its called Mickey Avenue because calling it Main Street was too Western. Which got me thinking about h

Hong Kong Disneyland shut down after typhoon destruction.

Image
Disney Parks for many is an escape from reality where you can enter into a land of fantasy and magic. While most of the time this is true, the reality is bound to set in which forces us to deal with hard facts. Typhoon Mangkhut which hit both Hong Kong and the Philippines causes mass destruction in both areas including the Disney Park. The damage was severe enough that the park had to be closed down for repairs and maintenance work. This reality is something many have to think about when traveling to out of state and country parks because their weather and natural disasters are different from the ones that we are used to here in California. While the parks might possess a magic that magic cannot protect it from the natural disasters that occur around the world. I found this interesting because you also hear about these disasters around the world and while there are only two parks in Asia they also seem to do well when there are natural distractions that accrued there. https://ww

Why Shanghai Disneyland's spell is wearing off after six months

Image
It is hard to keep up an appeal of Disney Parks especially when many have to travel far to get there. Once they get to the parks, the overpriced ticked which many accept as part of their Disney trip will feel more bothered by this because of the already long and expensive journey to get there. In 2016 when Shanghai Disneyland first opened it has an attendance of almost 4 million people. What was surprising was the only 6 months later the park entrance lines were virtually empty. While admission is about  370 yuan ($53.50) on weekdays and 499 yuan on weekends, these prices are actually cheaper than both the American parks in Ahiehem and Orlando. The major complaint is the price of food inside the parks and the cost of the merchandise. Many inside the park were seen eating food brought in from outside the park. Many who live close to the park make an average of about 6,000 yuan a month. One lady who visited the park says it cost half of her monthly salary to visit the park which incl
